going greenAlpine Family Dental strives to minimize our impact on the environment while delivering high quality dental care to the greater Flathead Valley.  We use proven safe, effective, earth friendly products and systems whenever available.

Embracing “Green”

  • Digital X-rays: reduce the amount of energy used to expose the x-ray, benefiting both patient and the environment.  Additionally, digital x-rays don’t require film, which eliminates the need for harmful developing chemicals and lead foil packaging. 
  • Amalgam Separator: removes mercury-containing amalgam filling material from the waste water thereby reducing pollution to the environment.  
  • Local Recycling Service: if it’s recyclable we recycle it!
  • Biodegradable/Recycled /Post Consumer Products: we use several “household” products that are earth friendly including trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels, envelopes, and more.
  • Fluorescent Lighting and LCD Computer Monitors: reduce energy usage.
  • Steam Sterilization Process: steam sterilization of instruments is most effective and eliminates the use of harsh chemicals whose disposal pollutes our environment.
  • Use of recycled ink cartridges and ink toner.
  • Dry Vacuum Pump: the vacuum pump creates the “suction.”  We replaced our water-based system (which used 41 gallons of water per hour) with a waterless system.  We save approximately 65,000 gallons of city water per year!!
  • Digital Charting System: reduces paper consumption.
  • Electronic Claims Processing: we process our patient’s insurance claims electronically, reducing processing time, paper, and postage.
